The Adventure of Meaning and the Traps of Interpretation in Haddathâ Abū Hurayrah qāla... by Mahmoud Messadi
Abstract
Through this paper, we aim to highlight the readings that have addressed Mahmoud Messadi’s novel Hadaathâ Abū Hurayrah qāla…, by examining the mechanisms of interpretation employed and the starting points of reading that, despite points of convergence, have undoubtedly produced diverse perspectives, making each critical reading characterized by a kind of uniqueness in the act of readers. The goals of this paper do not stop at the limits of reading or discussing discourse, but rather, in one aspect, it seeks to trace the interpretive traps that some readings have fallen into, based on what was available to them in their historical period from theoretical influences that guided their treatment of the texts. This endeavor comes within the framework of searching for a new acceptance of the novel Hadaathâ Abū Hurayrah qāla… that is informed by modern theories such as reception theory or cognitive approaches.
